We had a booth in the 2011 Pieceful Garden Quilt Show in Sanford, NC this past weekend!

The Hearts and Hands ECA Quilters Guild of Sanford invited us to set up a booth in this year's quilt show "Pieceful Garden". This was My Sewing Shoppe's first time as a vendor at a quilt show - wow! It was not what we were expecting but we learned a lot.

It was a great show with over a 100 beautiful quilts on display. Krystal and I met many new friends, some whom own a Pfaff or may in the near future.

The most talked-about attraction in our booth was my Cathedral Windows framed quilt. People seemed pleasantly surprised when I told them it was constructed by machine and the fabric-wrapped outer frame was custom made with the same material used for the frames of the Cathedral squares. Due to popular demand I will be developing a class over the next few months and hopefully it will be ready by February of 2012. I have already been asked to travel to Greensboro and give a day class to the local guild.

We learned that you can rent more than one 10' x 10' booth to make your space bigger. Our next door neighbor was a very friendly Pfaff dealer from Mooresville, NC (Erica Ransom, owner of Quilter's Loft Company). Erica immediately recognized this was our first show and offered us hangers to hang up quilts on the bars and gave suggestions for how to display various items in our booth - we did everything she said to do!. What a wonderful opportunity to have Erica, a seasoned Pfaff dealer, next door. Thank you! If you are ever in the Mooresville area please visit the Quilter's Loft Company and tell them that Danny sent you!

We brought a little bit of everything!
We didn't have a side wall to display samples on. Hopefully that will not happen again. Wall space - even though it is only cloth - is priceless!
Here is Krystal hiding behind the banner trying to eat lunch. The chicken salad wraps were wonderful! It was also nice being next to the fire exit doors for setting up and breaking down the booth! If you did not get a chance to visit the quilt show in Sanford you missed out on a wonderful venue with a wide variety of vendors, wonderful quilts on display and the "Turning of Quilts", a live presentation of antique quilts showcasing the history of quilt-making. My Sewing Shoppe is looking forward to the Hearts and Hands ECA Quilters Guild hosting this event again in 2013. My Sewing Shoppe will be there and so should you!

Pam Damour, The Decorating Diva was here! September 29 & 30, 2011

The Decorating Diva, Pam Damour, was here for 2 spectacular days of workshops and a Thursday night truck show "Home Dec for the Holidays". Pam delivered an excellent program and all who attended were pleased. Look forward to Pam coming to My Sewing Shoppe again in the first half of 2012 and maybe the second half also - time permitting.
